A$AP Rocky has been freed from a Swedish prison almost four weeks after his assault arrest. The rapper is thanking his fans, as well as the Swedish authorities for helping him get out of jail.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that on Friday afternoon, the Swedish court released the rapper and his two colleagues from jail. A final verdict in the case will be announced on August 14th, which could land the rapper back in prison for a few months.
At first, there were conflicting reports on whether or not A$AP Rocky and his codefendants were allowed to leave Sweden or not. However, it was confirmed by the Swedish courts that all three men were given the ok to head back to the United States.

Immediately following his release, the rapper used Instagram to send a huge thank you to fans for supporting him during his challenging time.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my fans, friends, and anyone across the globe who supported me during these last few weeks. I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for all of you. This has been a very difficult and humbling experience. I want to thank the court for allowing me, Bladi, and Thoto to return to our family and friends. Thanks again for all the love and support,” Rocky shared.
At the hearing on Friday morning, prosecutors asked that all three men be given a six-month prison sentence for their involvement in the horrific June assault.
The Los Angeles Times further reports that Rocky’s attorney was quick to point out the men were defending themselves. He stood firm with the self-defense position.

Video footage of the incident was posted to the rapper’s Instagram account shortly after it happened. The fight is awful, to say the least. Rocky was arrested not long following the assault.
Since his imprisonment, several famous faces have fought to free him. A number of performers like Tyler The Creator vowed to boycott Sweden until the rapper was released from prison.
A$AP Rocky has been freed from a Swedish prison, but that doesn’t mean his legal drama is over. A verdict in the assault case will be revealed in less than two weeks. TMZ has confirmed the rapper does not have to return to Sweden for the verdict.
