Perfection takes time! While on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night, Alex Rodriguez revealed that he prepared for his proposal to Jennifer Lopez for no less than six months!

Apparently, the man wanted every detail to be perfect!

‘I planned it for about 6 months. It was on a beach in the Bahamans. I had the engagement ring, but what was interesting is the 3 days prior to me going down on one knee was I rehearsed 3 days in a row,’ Rodriguez told the host about his and J.Lo’s engagement.

He went on to share the fact that he did not rehearse by himself – he actually had his assistant with him.

So while he was hilariously getting on one knee in front of the assistant, Rodriguez would make a mental note of the time the sun was setting.

‘I wanted the sunset to be perfect. One time the sunset was at 6:27, but the next day 6:29 and then the third one, it was raining. So, I came out at around 6:29 and said, ‘this is the time I’m going to do it,’ it worked out well.’

Since she said ‘yes,’ it is safe to say his six months’ worth of planning was worth it!

Jimmy did joke that the 2009 World Series championship ring he wore when popping the big question was almost as big as her diamond, but Jennifer was definitely not bothered by it.

It was even more special that she said ‘yes’ since Lopez admitted before while on Morning Mashup on SiriusXM Hits 1 that after three failed marriages, she was very hesitant to walk down the aisle again.

However, Rodriguez is someone very special to her and she loves him very much.

Their relationship just seemed too perfect not to give it a chance at forever.
