Alicia Keys is a 15-time Grammy winner and now she is going to be a two-time Emmy host. On Wednesday, the Recording Academy announced that the If I Ain’t Got You singer will return in 2020 to host the Grammys for the second straight year.

In a statement, Keys said that at first, she did think that last year was just going to be a “one-time thing.” But, when the opportunity presented itself a second time, there was no question that she would return.

“Last year was such a powerful experience for me,” explained Keys. “Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music.”

According to The Daily Mail, when Keys hosts the 62nd Grammy Awards, it will make her the third woman and first female recording artist in music history to host the awards show more than once. Other women who have hosted the show in the past include Ellen DeGeneres – who hosted back-to-back shows in 1996 and 1997. And, Rosie O’Donnell also hosted twice in 1999 and 2000.

In 1992 Whoopi Goldberg hosted the Grammys, and Queen Latifah also hosted in 2005.

Recording Academy President and CEO Deborah Dugan says that they are thrilled Keys is returning as host, and the decision to bring her back a second time was a no-brainer. Dugan noted that Keys has been a “beacon of artistry” in the industry for more than two decades, and last year was a “testament to her compelling creativity.”

In addition to hosting the Grammys, Keys will also be a performer at the 20th annual Latin Grammy Awards on November 14th. The Academy didn’t reveal if Keys would be performing on the same night she is hosting, but she did perform a medley of songs last year.

However, instead of performing her own music, she sang songs that she wishes she would have written – like Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag and Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable – and she performed with two grand pianos.

The Academy will announce this year’s nominees on November 20th. And, the 62nd Grammy Awards will air January 26th on CBS.
