Amanda Bynes' Comeback Officially On Hold As She Continues To Seek Treatment

Amanda Bynes has been considering a return to show business, but her lawyer recently revealed that the actress needed to deal with some issues first. Bynes entered treatment last month to focus on her wellbeing after realizing she wasn’t well.

Bynes re-entered the spotlight last November when she did an interview with Paper magazine, and her attorney, Tamar Arminak, says that the article – which explored Bynes’ history with drugs, as well as her public breakdown – left a lasting impression on the Nickelodeon alum.

“She really wasn’t feeling like herself all of sudden [and] she wanted to address that,” Arminak told Access Hollywood. “She wanted to address it right away before going back into show business and exploring show business again. And, it was her decision and her choice to address the situation, seek treatment which I think is an incredibly mature way of handling this type of thing.”

Since entering treatment, Arminak says that Bynes has spent her days focusing on herself and her wellbeing by exercising and doing yoga. The lawyer says she is confident that Bynes will make sure to get better before leaving the treatment center.

Arminak also revealed that Bynes is putting a return to acting on hold, and will instead focus on her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Arminak says that FIDM has been supportive of Bynes while she deals with her issues, and she looks forward to getting back to campus and being creative again.

Even though the She’s All That star is putting a pin in her return to show business, it will be hard for her to say no to the All That reboot. Back in February, Nickelodeon announced that it would be reviving some of its classic shows, including the 90s sketch comedy series, and star Kenan Thompson says he would love for Bynes to be a part of the new project.

Thompson said that he and the rest of the cast would love for Bynes to make a cameo, but it would be up to her. The 40-year-old Saturday Night Live star says he has not kept in touch with Bynes, but he has spoken with several of All That’s original stars, including Josh Server, Kel Mitchell, and Lori Beth Denberg.

Thompson explained that he would love to have everyone come back to the show and pass the torch to the new cast members.

The All That reboot is scheduled to premiere this summer, and Thompson says that “they found seven awesome kids” for the series.

All That ran on Nickelodeon from 1994 to 2005, and Amanda Bynes was part of the cast from 1996 to 2002.  The show inspired her spinoff The Amanda Show, which aired from 1999 to 2002.
