Two months after Amanda Bynes announced that she was expecting her first child with fiance Paul Michael, her lawyer now says that the actress is “not pregnant” and she is “not residing in a sober living facility.”

Attorney David Esquibias told Fox News that Bynes wasn’t pregnant, but he didn’t give any more details. He later told Entertainment Tonight that Bynes was “safe” and doing “very well” while sheltering in place at home.

Esquibias recently revealed that Bynes was seeking treatment for her “ongoing mental health issues,” and he added that any reports that claimed the 33-year-old was suffering from drug or alcohol addiction issues were “completely false.”

“We ask for privacy during this time, and for any speculation about her personal life from the public and the media to cease so Amanda can focus on getting better,” said Esquibias.

Bynes has suffered with mental health issues for years, which caused her to take a break from acting, get away from social media, and focus on her treatment and education. Before the COVID-19 pandemic caused the lockdown in California, Bynes was starting to post on Instagram again, and on Valentine’s Day she announced her engagement to Michael.

The She’s The Man star also posted a pic of her sonogram when she announced that she was pregnant with the caption “Baby on Board,” but both the engagement and pregnancy post have since been deleted.

Because of her mental health issues and her past struggles with substance abuse, Bynes has been under a conservatorship since 2014. She revealed in November 2018 that she was four years sober and was interested in acting again, but she had a relapse a few months later and ended up back in rehab due to “the pressure of being back in the spotlight.”

The last time Amanda Bynes was on the big screen was in the 2010 comedy Easy A. She retired from acting not long after because she “literally couldn’t stand” her appearance or performance in the film. “I was absolutely convinced I needed to stop acting after seeing it,” she told Paper magazine.

Bynes has since switched her career focus from acting to fashion, and last year she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.
