Comedian Amy Schumer has been documenting her IVF journey on Instagram, and the 38-year-old revealed on Friday night that she and husband Chris Fischer were able to successfully get one embryo from their recent round of IVF treatment.
“Hey! So ivf went like this for us. They retrieved 35 eggs from me. Not bad for the old gal right? Then 26 fertilized! Whoah right?” Schumer wrote in the caption of a selfie. “For all of those we got 1 normal embryo from that and 2 low level mosaic (mosaic means there are some abnormal cells but can still lead to a healthy baby) So we feel lucky we got 1! But what a drop off right?”

Schumer has been asking fans on social media about their experiences with IVF, and she even has a telephone number listed in her bio where fans can call or text her comments and questions. The Trainwreck star says that she appreciates everyone sharing their stories with her because they make her feel empowered and supported.
She explained that she wanted to share her personal experience with IVF because so many women go through many rounds of treatment, and that can be painful and mentally grueling. Schumer said she has heard from hundreds of women about their miscarriages and struggles with conceiving, and she’s also heard hopeful stories from women who were successful with IVF after “rounds and rounds.”
Schumer says the stories from fans have been encouraging, and she thanked her fans for sharing. She added that she is grateful for her son, and that she has the resources to get help through IVF. Schumer concluded her message by sending love and strength to all of the warrior women who go through the process.

Schumer and Fischer share one son – nine-month-old Gene Attell – and they are going through IVF so they can give him a sibling. Schumer has also been extremely open about her sex life with Fischer, and on Valentine’s Day she posted all about it.
“Baby without you I’m nothing,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m your ride or die. Anybody steps to you they’ll get smacked. I love having sex with you too. It’s about twice a week now which is pretty good.”
Amy Schumer added an apology to Chris Fischer for catching what their son had, for having diarrhea on their anniversary, and for puking on Valentine’s Day.
