Andy Cohen Gushes Over Fatherhood As He Shares First Photo Of Baby Benjamin

Andy Cohen is enjoying every minute of being a father to his only child Benjamin Allen Cohen, who was born on February 4th. The talk show host is so excited about the new role that he recently gave the world a glimpse of his precious baby, as well as gushed about fatherhood.
People magazine sat down with the Watch What Happens Live host to discuss his choice to be a single parent, his delivery room experience, as well as why he never thought he would have a child. No topic was off limits, and it is easy to see that Cohen is in heaven as a new father.
“I was in the delivery room. I had been hoping that he would have a full head of hair, and he really over delivered. That was the first thing you see, is the head of hair coming out and I was amazed,” he joked with the magazine.

Cohen also revealed that he was the first person to have skin to skin contact with his son and he had the honor of cutting the umbilical cord too.
“He was so alert for the first two hours. His eyes were wide open. He didn’t cry; he was just calm. I kind of have no words for it,” the 50-year-old shared with the magazine.
The whole experience of becoming a single father at his age has been surreal for the TV personality. He praised the surrogate, who lived in California because surrogacy is illegal in the state of New York. Cohen will forever be indebted to the woman who gave him the greatest gift ever.
He also explained that he was very fortunate when it came to the entire process. There were no complications from implanting the embryo to birth and Cohen knows he is blessed things went smoothly.

Although he has become a father later in life, Andy Cohen feels like would not have been ready for it when he was younger. Benjamin’s daddy shared he much calmer at this stage in his life. It is because of that sense of calm the Bravo host feels he is better suited to be a father now.
One thing is for sure, Cohen is thriving as a father. Baby Benjamin may be less than two weeks old but he changed his father’s entire world the instant he was born.
