Things between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been on an up-and-down rollercoaster for a while now.
And while recent reports/rumors indicated that the two might have started to get closer or the divorce might have been off; that may not be the case after all, if alleged close sources to Jolie are to be believed.
Allegedly, Jolie might be using her son, Maddox, as a tool in the relationship she has with Pitt, trying to draw negative attention to her partner through the use of her own son.
This speculation came to light after Maddox did an interview while at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, where he said he is not sure about his future relationship with Pitt, especially with regards to whether or not he should expect any visits from him in the future.
A source told Page Six, Jolie might have been behind the entire thing and added: “Maddox seemed prepared for the interview. He wasn’t trying to fend off the interviewer — so people in the industry think maybe it’s an effort by Jolie’s camp to stir things up, even though things have been relatively calm.”
Maddox’s interview was produced by Coleman-Rayner, the same news agency behind the now-infamous photos of Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas.
Meanwhile, Jolie is reportedly disappointed and even distraught over the fact that her son has no constant protection around him during his time in college, something neither of them is used to.
Some have speculated that this could be a long-term ploy by Jolie to get Maddox back to the United States.
This is not the first time Jolie has remarked negatively on the situation around her son’s studies in South Korea, but it sounds like Maddox himself is perfectly fine with his conditions, and is planning to hit the books hard.
Hopefully, the rumors will not turn out true in the end, as it would be a disappointing conclusion to his journey abroad at an age where he definitely needs the extra perspective on life and work.
While Maddox, 18, is away, his siblings — Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 11 — are making Jolie’s heart happy.
Another source told Hollywood Life: “All of Angelina and Brad’s kids are extremely close. They’re all very caring and protective of each other. They have always been a tight unit, but their parents’ divorce made the bond between them even stronger. They still bicker sometimes, as all siblings do, but overall they get along really well.”
Do you think the Maddox interview was set up?
