Anna Faris Is Engaged To Boyfriend Michael Barrett, Says Mom Co-Star Allison Janney

Rumors have been swirling for a while about Mom star Anna Faris possibly being engaged to her boyfriend Michael Barrett. And now, her co-star Allison Janney has confirmed the rumors are true.

Janney – who is currently starring alongside Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman in the movie Bombshell – told Us Weekly at the premiere of Troop Zero at Pacific Theatres at The Grove in Los Angeles that Faris and Barrett have been engaged “for a long time.”

“I kept it very quiet, I’ll have you know! So, I celebrated with them a long time ago,” said Janney. “I didn’t know he was going to propose, but I saw the ring one day. I went into her room to work on lines [for the show], and then I was like, ‘What is that ring on your finger?’ … I think she was waiting for everyone to notice. ‘Oh, that’s it,’ and then … yeah, it was fun.”

It was Faris herself who sparked the engagement rumors back in November when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring while she was walking with Barrett in Los Angeles. When a member of the paparazzi shouted a message of congratulations, Faris replied, “Thank you.”

Faris began dating the Ted cinematographer back in October 2017, just weeks after she and her ex-husband – Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt – announced that they had split after eight years of marriage. The former couple share a seven-year-old son named Jack, and their divorce was finalized in 2018.

Before she was married to Pratt, Faris was married to her Lovers Lane costar Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008.

An insider said in early 2018 that Faris and Barrett are “a great match,” and all of the 43-year-old’s friends love him because he is stable, down-to-earth, and “obsessed with Anna.” The source noted that Barrett had a great relationship with Faris’ son Jack, and that’s all that the actress really cared about.

After Faris and Pratt called it quits, he moved on with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine. Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger tied the knot in June 2019.

New episodes of Mom starring Anna Faris and Allison Janney air Thursday nights on CBS. Bombshell is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
