Aretha Franklin's Sons And Niece Showed No Respect On The Anniversary Of Her Death But Fight Over Her Money After Almost $1 Million In Uncashed Checks Were Discovered

Aretha Franklin’s family are embroiled in a bitter court battle over her $80 million fortune, but they have no time to honor her on the anniversary of her death.

According to Radar Online, many fans said they were baffled by the fact that no family members were seen at Detroit’s Woodlawn Cemetery to commemorate the legend who died on August 16, 2018, at the age of 76.

One person said: “I’m just surprised no one from her family showed up on the first anniversary of her death. I only saw a few loyal fans who loved her music and felt the need to pay their respects.”

Aretha’s sons — Kecalf Cunningham and Edward Franklin — are going after their brothers — Teddy Richards and Clarence Franklin and the cousin Sabrina Owens.

Kecalf and Edward are trying to remove Sabrina from the estate for many reasons, including the fact that nearly $1 million worth of Aretha’s uncashed personal checks have vanished.

Recently-released court documents regarding Aretha have revealed that the singer apparently had almost $1 million in uncashed checks that had been left completely untouched for an unknown reason.

She was reportedly still in possession of the large sum at the time of her death. Some of the checks were quite the large ones, with some for a total of over $700,000 from Sound Exchange and the Screen Writers Guild.

The situation around the singer’s death continues to become more and more bizarre.

Initially, it was announced that she had left no will behind her, but this was later countered by the new revelation of now one, but three separately written wills.

One of them was reportedly discovered in her couch, while the others were spread around the house. The wills stated that Franklin’s estate was supposed to be divided equally between her sons.

And with the discovery of these checks now, this could significantly change the situation for her family.

Many details about who will handle Franklin’s money after her death remain unclear and people involved with the aftermath have been very reluctant to share details as well, making this situation even trickier.

Still, many of the singer’s fans have been calling for more information on a regular basis, and it does not look like interest in her case is going to go down anytime soon.
