Ariana Grande And Photographer Reach Settlement Over The Use Of Unauthorized Photograph

According to a report from Page Six, Ariana Grande and a photographer – who filed a lawsuit against her for using a picture he took of her without consent – have come to a legal agreement regarding the use and subsequent monetization of the photograph.

In court documents acquired by The Blast, Robert Barbera, the photographer in question, filed a voluntary dismissal “without costs” and the case was subsequently brought to a close.

It was back in May when Barbera sued the 26-year-old pop star for uploading a couple of pictures as promotional material for her Sweetener album.

Robert demanded compensation of $25,000 for each photograph. When the lawsuit first came about, Grande deleted the relevant Instagram posts, however, the pictures are still on Twitter. This type of court case involving photographers and their pictures are not uncommon.

This past month, Gigi Hadid won a lawsuit against the agency, Xclusive-Lee, Inc. The 24-year-old supermodel stated previously that “these people make money off us every day, legally stalking us day in and day out.” Gigi described the court case as “absurd.”

According to a report from USA Today from April 2019, Scarlett put paparazzi on blast for their aggressive tactics, which Scarlett suggested may be putting people in danger. Scarlett stated she left the taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live one night and she was followed by five cars with blacked-out windows.

Johansson stated they were “running red lights” and putting the lives of others in danger. The Los Angeles TV stations NBC4 and ABC7 reported that Scarlett went to the police station but didn’t file a police report with them.

In the same statement, the actress alluded to the infamous death of Princess Diana, describing her tragic predicament and the behavior leading up to it as commonplace among “criminal” and “lawless” paparazzi.
