When tickets for Avengers: Endgame went on sale earlier this week, Marvel also released a “special look” at the highly-anticipated movie, and the new trailer featured some major character reunions. When Thanos made half of all living things disappear at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, every character lost someone close to them – and the survivors ended up scattered – so these reunions are quite meaningful, and they are setting the stage for an epic battle.

The Decimation impacted everyone, including Steve Rogers, (Captain America), who lost Bucky Barnes, Tony Stark (Iron Man) who lost his protege Peter Parker (Spider-Man), and Scott Lang (Ant-Man) who lost not only his significant other, Hope Van Dyne (The Wasp), but her parents, too.

The loss from the Decimation is truly devastating, but it’s not keeping the Avengers and their friends from getting together and fighting back. In the new trailer, Tony Stark reunites with Pepper Potts, with the two share a deep hug, and Nebula and Rocket Raccoon also come together after the loss of most of the Guardians.

Nebula and Rocket hold hands and share a moment as they realize they have lost Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and Mantis.

The biggest reunion of all is between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, who had a major falling out in Captain America: Civil War. To beat Thanos and reverse the Decimation, the two will have to make up and put their differences aside, and in the trailer, Tony asks Steve, “You trust me?” and Steve replies, “I do” as they shake hands.

Avengers: Endgame could be the last Marvel movie for Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, so it’s good to see their characters patch things up so they can take down a common enemy.

There is no doubt that the newest Marvel film will be one for the record books. Fandango has reported that first-day US ticket sales for Avengers: Endgame set records, beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens in just six hours.

Avengers: Endgame also set records for Atom Tickets. The mobile ticket provider had their best first-day sales ever, with Endgame beating out Aquaman four times over.
