Bachelorette Fan Favorite Jed Wyatt Had A Girlfriend The Whole Time He Was Romancing Hannah

When you are a part of the cast of TheBachelorette or The Bachelor, you are supposed to be single. After all, the show’s premise is that people are looking for love and possibly marriage. But, it looks like Jed Wyatt didn’t get the memo.

Wyatt – who is a singer/songwriter – did admit to Hannah Brown during the current season of The Bachelorette that he was on the show to help his music career, but he still claims to have fallen for her and is ready for marriage.

This, however, came as surprising news to his girlfriend back in Nashville, Haley Stevens. Wyatt was apparently four months into a relationship with Stevens when he left town to be on the show, and she thought he was just using the show as a platform.

“We spent the night together the night before he headed to L.A., and he told me [the show] was just an obstacle and we’d be stronger on the other side because of it,” Stevens told People Magazine.

The 26-year-old says Wyatt told her that he applied to be on the show before they started dating, and he explained that he didn’t want his dad helping him to pay the rent anymore. His goal was to get to the top five so he would be on the show long enough for it to be beneficial for his career.

Stevens says that Wyatt told her before he left that his behavior on the show isn’t real, it’s acting. And, he took Stevens to the Bahamas for a romantic getaway after ABC cast him. She added that they both said “I love you” for the first time during the vacation.

The last time the couple spoke was right after Wyatt landed in Los Angeles. He called her before he started filming, and then told Stevens he would call her when he gets back to Nashville. Bachelorette contestants aren’t allowed to have cell phones during filming, so Stevens had to try to find out what was going on with her boyfriend by following spoiler accounts online.

She had a difficult time watching Wyatt kiss another woman, and when she found out that he had returned home and didn’t call her, she was terrified that he had fallen in love with Brown. When she ran into him at a Nashville music venue earlier this month, Stevens said she asked him why he didn’t call her, and he told her that he didn’t know what to say.

They haven’t spoken since, and Stevens says she has no idea what happened with Wyatt  and Brown. She hopes he meant everything he said to her, but just caught up in the show. However, she is wondering now if she was the backup plan all along.

“I feel 100 percent betrayed,” said Stevens.
