Ben Affleck Will Star As Batman Again In The Flash

Ben Affleck will portray Batman again in Warner Brothers’ The Flash, a report from Variety revealed today. In an interview with Vanity Fair this week, the director, Andy Muschietti, announced Ben would put on the cape and mask again for the latest comic book movie.
Andy spoke with the outlet this week after receiving the script and said Ben had agreed to sign on. As most know, Affleck starred as Batman in films such as Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as Justice League.
Reportedly, Michael Keaton, who famously portrayed the caped crusader in the 1992 movie, Batman Returns, will also appear in The Flash. Initially, Ben wanted to direct a Batman film for Warner Brothers but chose to step down in 2017.
He was going to star in it as well, however, the project was given to Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson signed on as the titular character. Reportedly, Affleck revealed he didn’t want to star in and direct the movie anymore because of a drinking problem.
In the past, Andy praised Affleck’s portrayal of Batman, describing how Affleck had a great contradiction between his imposing masculine figure and vulnerability.

As it was previously reported, Robert Pattinson took over the role of Batman following Ben’s departure. In past interviews, Robert, who also has a role in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, explained how he had to sneak away from set one day to audition for Batman.
Pattinson said he told the iconic director he had to leave for a family emergency, but Nolan knew right away what he was really going to do.
Regarding Affleck’s drinking problem and subsequent decision to leave the franchise, the actor had to go to rehab and Jennifer Garner, his ex-wife, was the one to take him there. This wasn’t that long after he and his former spouse called off their marriage.
In past interviews, Ben touched on his marriage to Garner, explaining how it was one of the worst decisions he had ever made in his life. Sources at the time claimed Jen and Ben are committed to their children’s lives, and Jennifer did whatever she had to for the benefit of her family.
