Beyonce Raves Over Michelle Obama - Says She's A 'Beacon Of Hope' And Someone Her Kids Can Look Up To

Beyonce had a lot of positive things to say about the former First Lady. As you may know, Michelle Obama was named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People and it seems like Queen Bey agrees that she totally deserves her spot!

The superstar raved over Michelle in a tribute that she wrote for the magazine.

She, therefore, revealed that Michelle Obama is not only an inspiration for her, but also someone she wants her kids to look up to!

‘She would have been impactful simply by being at the White House, the first African American First Lady. But she also used her position of power to really improve the world around her. Her initiative Reach Higher, for instance, encourages young people to complete their education past just high school. She empowers us all to interrogate our fears and to surpass greatness,’ Beyonce writes.

She went on to say that ‘I’m honored to know such a brilliant black woman who has spoken about the sacrifices it takes to balance her passions while remaining a supportive partner and a mother, and now also a best-selling author with [her book] Becoming. She’s continued to open herself up, even if it meant being criticized. She’s continued to be a portrait of grace.’

Beyonce has a seven year old daughter named Blue Ivy as well as a pair of twins – Rumi and Sir, 1.

That being said, the star praised the ex FLOTUS for being such a ‘beacon of hope’ for her young ones.

‘I am grateful my daughters and my son live in a world in which Michelle Obama is like a beacon of hope who inspires us all to do better and be better.’

And it seems like the feelings are mutual since Michelle and her husband Barack are huge fans of Beyonce and her rapper hubby Jay Z as well!

The former presidential couple was seen attending a few of their joint tour stops last year, including one in Maryland and another in Paris!
