Earlier today, it was reported that Big Sean just released a new song, “Deep Reverence,” in which he paid tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle who was tragically shot and killed outside of his LA clothing store in March 2018.
Hot New Hip Hop said today that Big Sean is gearing up to release his next record, Detroit 2, which comes out on the 4th of September. His new track features a line about Kendrick Lamar following Hussle’s death, which the rapper says inspired him to reach out to Lamar, despite their feud.
Reportedly, Big Sean claims he spoke with Kendrick Lamar on the phone after Nipsey died. He realized the beef they had was so petty, and there were no “real” issues between them to begin with.
In addition to touching on his beef with Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean also explained how Jhene Aiko had suffered through a miscarriage. With that said, it’s not entirely clear if Big Sean was, in fact, referring to Aiko but most fans think it was in relation to her, rather than one of his former flames.
As it was previously reported, Big Sean was in the headlines this year when he commemorated Naya Rivera after she and her son rented a pontoon boat on Lake Piru, California. Naya and Josey went for a swim but the former never came back.
Big Sean was once in a relationship with the Glee actress, so there’s no question the rapper had to come out and offer a few kind words in honor of the late actress. The rapper praised Naya for saving her son in her final moments but also knocking down barriers for other people in the industry.
Big Sean also said he appreciated and cherished everything that ever happened between them because it made him the person he is today. As it was noted above, the Glee actress passed away earlier this year.
Naya’s death was the subject of media reports for several weeks, including comments and tributes from former cast members, rappers, and other entertainment industry figures.
