Mullets were all the rage in the 80s, but they aren’t often seen by Generation Z, which Billie Eilish is a part of. Maybe that’s why people are freaking out over Billie’s new mullet. Not only are people surprised that she has one, but they are also shocked it looks so good on her! Now that Billie Eilish is making the mullet cool again, many wonder if she is going to bring the style back and get the mullet back as a popular hairstyle again.
Billie Eilish attended the 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala and was dressed entirely in Gucci. She looked amazing but fans were in awe of her hair. Billie is still sporting the two-tone look with the crown of her head bleached so she can add different colors to it. She has been wearing her hair with a green tint and the look is cool and with the mullet, the two-toned colors are accentuated.

Though mullets are associated with the 80s, Billie’s hairstyle is almost an updated version from the 70s rocker look. It’s almost similar (despite the color) to hairstyles worn by rockers like Suzi Quatro and Joan Jett, only instead of being feathered back, it’s loosely sectioned and comes down in fine points.
There needs to be something said about Billie having a nice shaped head that pulls off the look as well. Because her hair is straight and she isn’t dealing with any frizziness, waves, or cowlicks that can cause stray pieces to stick out the wrong way, the hairstyle works on her. It nicely frames her face while complements the back of her head, before flowing into the long and straight style associated with the mullet.
This look won’t work on everyone as some people might find they have too much volume at the back of their head and can’t get the mullet to rest flat. For Billie, it blends so seamlessly, it’s almost hard to tell that it’s a mullet. Maybe a relaxed mullet is a better name for the look as opposed to the classic styles that were predominant throughout the 80s.
