Blake Shelton Jokes That 'Nobody Is More Shocked' That He That Gwen Stefani Is His Fiancee

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are engaged and waiting for the COVID-19 pandemic to end in order to finally tie the knot but it turns out that the country crooner is still not over the fact that she even said yes to him! The man is well aware just how unlikely getting together with Gwen Stefani really was and he talked about that while on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

While a guest on the show, he joked that ‘Nobody is more shocked about this [their enagegement] than I am. It makes no sense. I can see that you are looking at that picture right now and thinking, ‘What the hell’s happening?”

The host joined in, dissing the country singer by telling him that:

‘And she seems happy about it! At first, I thought it was a dare or something like she lost a bet. But she actually seems happy here.’

The country singer was not offended at all and was actually really amused by Colbert’s words, encouraging him to ‘Bring it on, I can take it. I can take it. I understand. Trust me, I really understand. You cannot blame me for not jumping at the opportunity though.’

Of course, fans are totally used to it at this point since Gwen and Blake have been together for over five years.

Then, last fall, they finally made the next step in their relationship by getting engaged.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last month, Gwen admitted that before Blake got on one knee, she was starting to wonder where their relationship was going.

‘I was sort of like, ‘What is happening with us?’ It was in my mind, like, ‘We have been together for a long time now. What is going on?’ I was at that place in my head.’
