Brian Austin Green Defends Not Posting Tribute To Beverly Hills 90210 Costar Luke Perry

Brian Austin Green is coming under fire for not posting a tribute to his Beverly Hills 90210 costar Luke Perry after his shocking death. He is the only original cast member to not release a public message, but that doesn’t mean Green is not grieving.

Fans were quick to call out Green after he posted a video on Instagram promoting his podcast but again not mentioning the tragic death of Perry. The comments section was flooded with criticism for his lack of respect for his costar.

“RIP Luke Perry! I’m not sure how you could do this so soon. I haven’t seen anything from you about his passing, maybe I’ve missed it somewhere. Pretty much everyone else had something to say. It’s just not the same without #LukePerry and it seems pointless without him. So sad,” wrote user Carrie Bristol.

Green, who played David Silver on the hit Fox show back in the ’90s, keep his cool but also took to time to defend himself.

“Thank you for your words. Thank you to everyone for sticking up for me, but it’s not necessary. Carrie, the passing of Luke is terrible. As was said by many, everyone grieves in different ways. If it’s too soon for you to attend what is meant to be a fun night for the fans, then you don’t have to. Everyone should respect everyone’s process,” wrote the actor.

Tributes for actor Luke Perry poured in immediately following his death. Although it took some of his costars a few days to share a tribute or release a statement, they all had lovely sentiments for their friend.

Brian Austin Green is not the only Beverly Hills 90210 star to come under fire for not posting about Perry’s death. Jennie Garth did release a statement, but she did not share a message on social media. The actress was slammed for posting a picture of her daughter’s on International Women’s Day. One fan accused her of “not mourning enough” for her friend.

“Hi everyone. I chose to post a pic of my girls today. Because they are my life. Because today is a day to celebrate all women. It took a lot for me to want to celebrate anything. I thought about it and I know that’s the way my dear friend would have wanted it. His kids were his life,” Garth fired back to all the haters in her comments section.
