Britney Spears wants to marry her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, but a new report claims that Spears’ dad Jamie won’t allow it. Is it possible that the 25-year-old is just after Spears’ $200 million fortune?

Jamie has held conservatorship over Britney and her finances since her famous 2007 meltdown where she shaved her head and ended up in rehab. And, this means that the Toxic singer can’t make any legal or financial decisions on her own, she has to have her dad’s approval.

“Britney wants to marry Sam and have another baby, but her father says no!” says an insider.

According to Radar Online, Jamie believes that Asghari wants his daughter’s money, and this is why he disapproves of Britney’s wedding plans. Even if the 37-year-old decided to ignore her dad and walk down the aisle for the third time, LA family law attorney William R. Lively says that the marriage would be illegal.

“Because Britney was judged incompetent, she is not able to give sufficient consent,” Lively explained. “But Sam could argue that as her father’s health declined, he has been caring for her.”

Last October, Jamie suffered a ruptured colon and was taken into emergency surgery. His health is failing, and the 66-year-old is facing more surgery. Insiders say that Britney is worried that time is running out for her to get her dad’s approval for a wedding.

Amid Jamie’s health battles, Asghari has reportedly stood by Britney’s side and has been treating her “like a queen.” The two met back in 2016 on the set of her Slumber Party music video and started dating not long after.

An insider says that Asghari is a “stabilizing force in Britney’s life,” and he isn’t trying to make her into something she’s not. In the past, it has been a struggle for Britney to find someone who accepts her for who she is, but she believes she has found that with Asghari.
