Bruce Willis' Wife Emma Heming Willis Talks About Her Grief Over Bruce's Aphasia Diagnosis

Legendary actor Bruce Willis and his family have had a difficult year as the Die Hard actor was recently diagnosed with Aphasia, a cognitive condition which renders a person’s communication abilities almost completely useless. The diagnosis meant that Bruce had no choice but to retire from acting. This was a deeply saddening news for Bruce, his fans and his family that loves him very much.

Bruce’s wife Emma Heming Willis recently took to Instagram to talk about how the whole situation has affected her. Emma along with several other family members of Bruce announced the diagnosis since Bruce himself couldn’t and Emma has been giving fans updates on Bruce’s life ever since but she has not spoken about her own sentiments on the matter until now.

On National Grief Awareness day, Emma decided to share her thoughts about her struggle with the whole situation to the rest of the world via an Instagram post. The post showed Emma engaging in various different activities and the caption of the post read as follows:

“This was the summer of self discovery—finding new hobbies, going out of my comfort zone and staying active. My grief can be paralyzing but I’m learning how to live along side it. As my step-daughter @scoutlaruewillis told me, grief is the deepest and purest form of love. I hope you find some comfort in that too 💞 #nationalgriefawarenessday #griefawareness #liveitup”

The sudden loss of your spouse’s ability to communicate properly is definitely no easy thing to go through and fans, friends, and family all showed their support to Emma under the post.

Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis came in March of this year. The condition usually is set on by a head injury, stroke or slow growing tumor but it has not been revealed thus far what caused the condition in Bruce’s case. However, Emma shares videos of Bruce spending time with his family from time to time and it seems that the actor is in decent physical health.
