Cameron Diaz recently gave a rare interview about her life as a new mom to three-month-old Raddix, the daughter she shares with husband Benji Madden. The Mask star revealed that the coronavirus lockdown hasn’t changed her life much because she had “kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow.”

Diaz appeared on her friend Katherine Power’s Instagram Live, and she said that her life has been “completely quiet and still for the last few months.” The 47-year-old added that she was inviting friends over before the lockdown, but now she doesn’t see anyone.

The There’s Something About Mary star said that her quiet life is “nice,” and she loves being in a bubble. Diaz explained that she is enjoying “being in the womb” of her home with Madden and cooking meals during the quarantine. She added that it is “crazy” that no one can go out into the world right now. The actress also shared part of her evening routine. Diaz says that she is the one who does the cooking at night, and Madden takes care of putting the baby down.

“After we do bath time with our baby and we put her to sleep, Benji puts her to bed, he’s so good. He’s such an amazing father. I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s daddy,” gushed Diaz. “He’s so incredible. He puts her down and I go into the kitchen and I start dinner and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine. I start my cooking, I put on my show, whatever it is.”

Diaz explained that drinking wine every night is her “wind-down for the day,” but acknowledged that the “best part” of her life is being a mother. She says that she is so grateful and happy to have a daughter, and she is lucky that she gets to raise Raddix with Madden.

The actress – who married Madden in 2015 – says that they are having the best time, and she is “just thrilled” about her new life. However, Diaz doesn’t want to think too far ahead, and instead wants to stay in the “here and now.” Diaz says that the furthest she thinks ahead is two weeks, and she is making it through the quarantine by staying present.
