The tragic passing of Riverdale actor Luke Perry has affected his co-stars very much. It is obviously very difficult to get used to the idea that not only will he no longer play Archie’s dad, Fred Andrews, but that he is also gone forever.
Earlier today, Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge on the show, took to social media to pay tribute to Perry.
She posted a pic featuring her and the late actor, and in the caption, she wrote a heartbreaking message, addressing Perry’s loss.
‘He took care of us. An authentic man who took pleasure in offering his guidance and wisdom, his presence was healing. He had the ability to make you feel comfortable and at ease within seconds of seeing him. I will never forget the collective shock and distress we experienced when the news broke on set. We lost a dear friend,’ Mendes wrote.
She went on to say that ‘My heart hurts for his family and anybody who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Luke. Although you’re no longer around to wrap me in the warmth of your hug, I can still remember what it felt like. Whenever I think of you, I will remember that feeling.’
Luke Perry passed away on Monday, a few days after suffering a massive stroke.
His unexpected death at the age of only 52, shocked his loved ones, fans, and co-stars.
There is no denying that the entire Riverdale cast and crew have been having a very tough week.
Yesterday, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the executive producer, announced that Perry will be featured in this week’s episode and that every episode from now on, will be dedicated to the actor.
One insider told ET that everyone on set had been offered counseling services in the aftermath of Perry’s death.
Furthermore, the show’s production was halted on Monday and it is expected to resume on Wednesday.
