Chris Hemsworth will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020. The announcement was made on June 20, 2019, when the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the new awardees. Known for his role as Thor, it’s hard to believe that Chris Hemsworth has only appeared on the silver screen for a decade. His first feature film was in 2009 when he played George Kirk in Star Trek. Since then, his film career has been legendary and the Australian-born actor is larger than life and a superhero around the world.

Only two years following StarTrek, Hemsworth joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe by playing the role of Thor. The Avengers would follow in 2012. To many fans across the world, Chris Hemsworth doesn’t need a star to prove that he is already one. The honor; however, is immense and social media blew up with the news that Chris was going to be immortalized on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

Though Chris has only starred in movies for one decade, his acting career encompasses a greater time period. Chris Hemsworth starred in the Australian series Home and Away from 2004-2007. It was the fifth television series for him, but the one that put him on the map as a star.  His first role was in 2002 when he played King Arthur on the television series Guinevere Jones.

Chris Hemsworth is one of the world’s most in-demand actors and just appeared in the movies Avengers: Endgame and Men in Black: International. He has four movies currently in the works.

These include Jay and Silent Bob Reboot,Dhaka, The Untitled Hulk Hogan Project, and Down Under Cover.

When Chris Hemsworth isn’t working he’s the husband to actress Elsa Pataky and the father of three children. Chris and Elsa married in 2010 and have one daughter who was born in 2012, and twin sons who were born in 2015.  For many of Chris Hemsworth’s Marvel fans, they feel the news came at a perfect time. Many people have expressed sadness over the ending of this generation of the Avengers and simply didn’t want it to end.
