Chrissy Metz Delivers Must See Performance At ACM Awards With Carrie Underwood And More

This Is Us star Chrissy Metz delivered a must-see performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas last night, where she made her singing debut.

The actress proved not only can she hold her own with some of the best in country music, like Carrie Underwood but that Metz has an even more fantastic voice than showcased on the NBC show. Metz premiered her song, ‘I’m Standing with You,’ which is from her upcoming movie Breakthrough.

Metz took the stage first looking beautiful and confident. She was quickly joined by Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton, and Maddie & Tae. The group of talented ladies stole the entire awards show with their performance of the song’s emotional lyrics.

Although fans love Metz as Kate Pearson on the hit NBC show, she could very well become one of country music’s hottest stars. Fans have heard the 38-year-old sing before on This Is Us, but she was clearly holding back. It was obvious by her performance as Kate that Metz could sing, but she wowed viewers with her musical talent at the ACM‘s.

“I’m excited. I mean, you know, as a little girl, you always dream about something like this. But to actually do it and to hold a stage with these incredible women, Lauren Alaina, Carrie Underwood, Maddie + Tae, Mickey Guyton. Are you kidding? It’s really exciting,” the actress shared with People magazine, as she walked the red carpet before the awards show.

The reason the specific group of ladies was chosen to perform, ‘I’m Standing with You’ is because all of them are featured on the Breakthrough soundtrack. Those powerhouse women are also joined by Darius Rucker and Adam Hambrick on what will no doubt be one of the most talked about soundtracks of the year.

This Is Us Star Chrissy Metz has been vocal about her love of country music. Last night one of her dreams came true when she got to perform at the ACMAwards.

“I got to see George Strait and Miranda Lambert sing one of my favorite George Strait songs at rehearsal. I was like, losing my mind. Everyone here is just incredible. I love country music,” Metz exclaimed as she prepared for one of the biggest nights of her life.
