It sounds like Cody Simpson has been a big fan of Miley Cyrus in the years leading to their romance. The Australian singer said so himself during an older interview.

It turns out that Cody was already head over heels with the female artist at the age of just 15!

While chatting with Fuse back in 2012, Cody gushed over his fondness for Miley, who had just wrapped up her iconic Hannah Montana series, just the year before.

‘Miley Cyrus has always been my childhood celebrity crush. I knew all of the words to her songs, I’m not gonna lie. I am not ashamed about it, at all. I was a big Miley Cyrus fan. I think that she will be, forever, the most dateable Disney star.’

How cute is it that years later, they are dating?

Well, even before that, the two have been friends for quite some time but lately, after her splits from Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter, she and Cody have become something more.

The two were caught making out in public a few days ago and since then, they’ve even been open about their new romance on social media.

One insider previously told HollywoodLife that for now, they are just having fun.

‘Miley and Cody have been friends for years. They have hooked up in the past. Cody and Miley have zero plans to start dating exclusively. They just want to have fun and they are open and honest with each other about that. Miley and Cody talk to each other about everything,’ the source dished.

They also stressed that Cody still ‘adores’ Miley but friends would describe him as a ‘player,’ which stems from the fact that he is not ready to settle down with one woman.
