Colin Kapernick spoke recently about some pretty interesting subjects. One of them involves the incident that sparked his activism.
The Shade Room revealed all the details, and they are really exciting.
Colin puts on for his community, and this is not a secret for anyone anymore.
The man is dedicated to offering education to youth, and he continues his fight against injustice towards minorities.
TSR reveals that during his interview with Paper Magazine, Colin brouight up to light the 2015 incident. This is really important because the incident triggered his role in activism, and also what helped spark the idea of his Know Your Rights Camp (KYRC).
Months before he started kneeling during the National Anthem, Colin and his girlfriend Nessa started discussing ideas for a camp, which later became known as the KYRC.
TSR reported that Colin said, ‘The discussion happened shortly after the execution of #MarioWoods.’
According to TSR, ‘Five San Francisco officers killed Mario Woods on December 2, 2015, and his death deeply affected Colin, who was playing for the San Francisco 49ers at the time.’
The KYRC was created for the African American youth, for young people between the ages of 12-18.
People praise him in the comments and some followers bring up Jay Z.
Somoene said: ‘I think he found his calling. He’s above the NFL now honestly. I feel like he’ll be going backward if he plays again after everything that transpired.’
Another follower posted: ‘I don’t wanna hear it cus he still wanna work for the NFL.’
One commenter wrote: ‘Having a white mother he probably never paid attention to blk problems. Now he older and see for himself ish ain’t right and that’s why he has gone hard… not for attention … he passionate.’
One follower posted this: ‘Jay-Z is telling people not to go to his camp so he could develop his own and make another billion. Them carters different.’
Someone else believes that ‘Understand that we can stand with both Kaep and Jay. They’re fighting the same fight, just in two different ways. Choosing a side and bashing the other is getting anything done. Kaep started us off, now let’s see if we can help Jay keep it going without being negative towards one! ✊🏾’
It’s been recently reported that Jay-Z and RocNation are making money moves and the NFL is getting to improve its image in this process.
