Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph are no longer an item! The Bachelor stars took to their platforms to announce they have separated and explain why it did not work out!

As you may remember, the two had a pretty insane and never before seen ending on the show so their love story definitely caught a lot of attention.

But it turns out that their twist engagement during Colton’s season finale was not enough to ensure they would be together forever.

Instead, the celebs have realized that they are better off as just friends!

Colton was the first to address the split on his Instagram page, sharing a pic of him and Cassie looking out at a lake.

In the caption, he wrote: ‘It’s been a crazy few months to say the very least, Cass and I have been doing a lot of self reflecting. Sometimes people are simply meant to be friends – and that is okay. We both have grown immensely and have been through so much together – so this is not the end of our story, it is the start of a whole new chapter for us.’

Hearing this, many fans were saddened, followers of the former Bachelor leaving comments about how ‘heartbroken’ they were.

Soon after, Cassie shared a statement on her own platform as well, writing alongside a number of happy pics of the former pair: ‘First off, I want to say that this is one of the hardest things I’ve had to share. Colton and I have broken up, but we’ve decided to remain a part of each other’s lives. With all that we’ve gone through, we have a special bond that will always be there.’

‘I love Colton very much and have an enormous amount of respect for him. We’ve both learned and grown so much these past couple of years, and will always have each other’s backs. Always,’ she concluded her message.
