Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph’s breakup was foreseeable by friends and family. A source who spoke with Us Magazine this week stated that it was a “long time coming,” because their romance quickly became platonic.
The same insider who spoke with the aforementioned publication stated that Cassie and Colton had developed a very strong relationship, however, it was hot in the beginning, but it quickly fizzled out, and everyone around them noticed.
The source added that they were practically just “roommates toward the end.” Another source who spoke with Us claims both parties really had to consider whether breaking up was the right decision. In the end, they decided to go their separate ways.
In case you missed it, the 28-year-old Bachelor star and Randolph, 25, revealed on the 29th of May, Friday, that they were going to pump the brakes on their romance after a little over a year. Via Instagram, Underwood said the last few months have been “crazy” to say the least.

Obviously, Underwood was referring to the coronavirus pandemic which shocked the world. Moreover, he was one of the celebrities who came out to say he contracted the illness, not long after the Academy Award-winning actor, Tom Hanks, and his wife, Rita Wilson, got it in Australia.
On Randolph’s Instagram, she explained that neither one of them were ready to split up, and they didn’t want to talk about it much, but they ultimately decided it was best for both of them if they broke up and moved on.
As it was noted above, Underwood contracted COVID-19 near the beginning of the pandemic’s upswing in the United States in March. He was staying in Cassie’s house with her family while slowly recovering from the illness.
Fans of the couple know they first met during the 23rd season of The Bachelor. They’ve been together since the final episode in March 2019, approximately one year ago. They said in the past that they were considering moving into together, but with Cassie’s education, it was a better option to save that for later.
