Counting On Fans React To John David Duggar And Abbie Grace Burnett's Gender Reveal

The year of the baby girl continues in the Duggar family. Counting On stars John David Duggar and Abbie Grace Burnett have announced that they are having a girl, just like the other expectant couples in the family – Josh and Anna, Josiah and Lauren, and Joseph and Kendra. Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald have already welcomed a daughter this year, and they named her Ivy Jane.

“We are so excited to announce that we are having…” said John David at the beginning of a TLCMe Video. “A girl!” chimed in Abbie Grace.

“I’m really looking forward to having a little baby girl around the house,” added John David. “I already have one, now I’m going to have two. I just hope she’s as pretty as her mommy, I know she will be!”

Abbie Grace says she is looking forward to hair bows, pink dresses, and “lots of sparkles.”

The couple had their reveal party – complete with pink and blue balloons – at the Duggar family compound in Tontitown, Arkansas. They chose a “flight” theme, just like they have for every other major event in their relationship. According to People Magazine, the couple handed out boarding passes to their guests, and they each had a flight number, one number for a girl and one number for a boy.

To reveal the gender, John David’s younger brother Jeremiah flew one of the family’s planes overhead with a banner that told the guests the winning flight number. At the same time, confetti cannons on the ground shot pink streamers.

The couple teased fans on their Instagram page, posting a series of pics from the party and asking fans if they thought they were having a boy or girl. Eagle-eyed fans noticed in the first picture – that featured John David and Abbie Grace kissing in front of the Duggar house – pink streamers were on the grass.

The picture was obviously post-reveal, and Counting On fans picked up on it right away.

“Pink confetti in the grass (first pic) congrats!” wrote one fan, while another added, “Lol the pink confetti all over the front lawn in the first pic says it all.”

John David and Abbie Grace said that they knew they were having a girl before the party, but the only other person that had the inside info was his twin sister Jana. The news was a surprise to everyone else in the family.

The parents-to-be posted their gender reveal on Instagram with a picture of the couple kissing amid a cloud of pink confetti. Fans couldn’t help but point out just how many Duggar girls will be arriving in the next few months.

“Congrats you guys!! There’s gonna be a lot of estrogen being born into the duggar brood this year and next year. So exciting,” wrote a fan.

New episodes of Counting On will return to TLC in October.
