Counting On star Joy-Anna Duggar is just a few short weeks away from welcoming her second child with husband, Austin Forsyth, but she is going to do some things differently this time around. In a new video on the “Follow The Forsyths” YouTube channel, the 22-year-old revealed her surprising birth plan for her daughter.
In the 12-minute video titled “Getting Ready For Baby Girl’s Arrival,” Duggar revealed that she will be giving birth to her daughter in a hospital!
“I am going to pack my hospital bag today. I’ve been needing to do this for a little bit. Thirty-five-and-a-half weeks, so I figured it’d be good to have the bag ready a month out just in case anything happens when we’re not expecting it, we can just grab the bag and go,” explained Duggar. “I don’t really know what to pack. I’ve never packed a hospital bag before. With Gideon I was doing a home birth, so I didn’t have to pack anything.”
Duggar admitted she felt “torn” about “all this COVID stuff,” which means her mom, Michelle Duggar, and her sisters will not be present for the birth of her daughter. The mom of two-year-old Gideon understands why her family won’t be allowed to be there, but that doesn’t make it any easier.
Instead of having the support of her family, Duggar said that only her and Forsyth will be in the hospital when she delivers because of coronavirus pandemic rules. She remains hopeful that she can get a room with a window, and that would give her family the chance to come see her daughter on the day she is born.
“That would be really special if they could at least see her the day she was born because my parents have always been there for me and Austin’s parents, so we’ll see how that works out,” said Duggar.

In a new interview with TLC Me, the Counting On star praised her husband for helping “out a lot” during this pregnancy because Gideon is “kind of getting into everything now.” She says that it is hard to keep up with her toddler when she’s “big and pregnant,” and Forsyth has been “great” by helping with their son and cleaning the house.
Joy Anna Duggar is excited to meet her daughter, but admits she doesn’t really know how to prepare for a girl since all she knows is “boy.” Forsyth says he is looking forward to watching Gideon interact with his little sister, and to see how his wife interacts, too.
“I can’t wait to be a family of four!” said Forsyth.
New episodes of Counting On air Tuesday nights on TLC.
