Counting On Star Kendra Caldwell Dated Jedidiah Duggar Before Marrying Joseph Duggar

Kendra Caldwell just announced that she is pregnant with her second child with Joseph Duggar. While the Counting On stars prepare to expand the family, an inside source who used to work for the Duggars revealed that Jedidiah Duggar courted Caldwell prior to her marriage.

The Duggars are pretty cautious about the whole courting process, which usually results in a successful marriage. There are, of course, some exceptions to the rule.

As fans will recall, Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson’s romance failed and the two eventually parted ways. Caldwell faced a similar outcome when she dated Jedidiah in the summer of 2017.

The former employee of the Duggars told The Hollywood Gossip that Caldwell caught Joseph’s eye when she was dating his brother. The source claims that Joseph pushed his brother out of the relationship because he wanted to pursue something with Caldwell.

This resulted in some tension in the family ranks, which was ultimately resolved after Jed forgave Joseph and granted him permission to court his future wife.

It is unclear why Jed gave up on Caldwell, but the fact that Joseph is four years his senior may have played a part in the drama. This could also be the reason why family patriarch Jim Bob Duggar allegedly stepped in and gave Joseph his approval.

There is a strong possibility that Jim Bob thought it was better for his 22-year-old son to start a family rather than his 18-year-old, who still has plenty of time to find a match.

The Duggars have not addressed the rumors surrounding Caldwell’s alleged romance with Jed. The insider claims that the family will never talk about the failed relationship because it would not go well with their conservative viewers. After all, Jim Bob has spent years developing a media following and will not risk losing all his hard work for nothing.

Kendra Caldwell and Joseph Duggar will return in new episodes of Counting On later this year on TLC.
