Dana White Announces The First Fight On 'Fight Island'

Hot New Hip Hop reported today on comments from the UFC president, Dana White, in which he announced that the very first fight on Fight Island would be Alexander Volkanovski versus Max Holloway.

For the last few months, media reports and social media users have speculated on what Dana White’s “Fight Island,” would look like, as well as how the matches will occur.

It wasn’t that long ago when White announced the UFC would be hosting fights on its own island following the coronavirus pandemic. According to White, Fight Island is in Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, and the president of the organization revealed some of the cards.

As it was noted above, Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will be one of the main draws from the planned flight. The next fight people are talking about is Gilbert Burns versus Kamaru Osman. The match will go down on the 11th of July.

Some of the other fights are planned for the 15th of July, the 18th of July, and the 25th of July. Currently, there are rumors of which other stars would be involved, including Robert Whitaker versus Darren Till, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira versus Shogun Rua, and Fabricio Werdum versus Alexander Gustafsson.

Mr. White has used a private airline to make sure that fighters are completely safe traveling to and from the location. Moreover, White says they will use coronavirus testing measures, that way everyone is safe and COVID-19-free.

This all comes after White had to shut down UFC matches on account of the pandemic. The UFC joined almost every other professional sport that had to shut their doors, mostly on account of the large venues in which the matches are hosted.

They typically involve thousands of people in a stadium with the athletes on the ground below. It’s clear the matches on Fight Island are coming soon, because White has been a lot more active in interviews as well as on social media.

Earlier this year, White took to his Twitter to re-tweet a video in which Conor McGregor’s head was superimposed over a bull.
