On the 17th of June, Wednesday, Danny Masterson was charged with three counts of rape, Us Magazine reported. A source who spoke with the entertainment news outlet said that Danny has a “robust” defense, and he won’t be taking a plea deal.
Insiders who spoke with the publication claimed the victims are currently filing a lawsuit against him for “significant financial damages,” a point which the source says should be taken into consideration.
Even though the That 70’s Show alum may face 45 years in state prison, he won’t accept a plea deal, despite tremendous pressure to do so. More importantly, the source explained, there is a possibility that it won’t become a criminal trial, and it’s probable that the court will dismiss the charges.
Jackie Lacey, the LA County District Attorney, announced charges against the 44-year-old The Ranch alum this Wednesday, approximately three years after he was accused of sexual assault publicly. The police arrested the actor around 11:30 am and he was released on a $3.3 million bail.
Reportedly, the actor has been accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman between January and December in 2001; a 28-year-old woman in 2003, and then another 23-year-old woman between October and December in the same year.
The court has scheduled his arraignment for the 18th of September. Tom Mesereau, his criminal defense attorney, said in a statement on Wednesday that his client was innocent, and they’re confident the charges will be dropped.

Following the revelation of the new charges, Leah Remini, the King of Queens star, who just so happened to interview two of the women back in 2019, toook to her social media to express joy in the fact that victims were finally being “heard” regarding Scientology.
As most know, Leah has been an outspoken advocate against the Church of Scientology and even released an A&E documentary on the subject. Fans of Masterson know he first made headlines back in March 2017 following the accusations of several women against him.
At the time, sources from the LAPD confirmed to Us Magazine that they were looking into the charges against the Men At Work alum.
