Demi Lovato dated That 70’s Show actor Wilmer Valderrama for six years before they split in 2016. But now that he has moved on and is engaged to model Amanda Pacheco, Lovato says that she wishes her ex “nothing but the best.”
In the latest cover story for Harper’s Bazaar, the Sorry Not Sorry singer talked about her relationship with Valderrama, which began in 2010 when she was just 18 and he was 29. When they announced their split, the former couple said that they were “better as best friends” and they will always support one another.

Things have changed in the last four years, as Lovato and Valderrama no longer keep in touch, but Lovato still has nothing but good things to say about her ex.
“I’m really happy for him and I wish him nothing but the best, but we’re not in each other’s lives [and] haven’t spoken in a long time,” Lovato told the magazine. “But I think I needed that, because I needed to learn to be okay on my own.”
The singer explained that when you get into a relationship at such a young age and spend six years with someone, it keeps you from learning about yourself.
The interview took place in early March – before Lovato started dating actor Max Ehrich – and she said at the time that she doesn’t put limits on who she could possibly spend her life with.
Lovato, who recently came out as bisexual – said that when she imagines her life in the future, she doesn’t think about looking for a man who she wants to have two or three kids with. Instead, she thinks it would be a lot more fun to share children with a woman.

She added that she doesn’t know what her future will look like, but she is “open to anything.” Lovato also noted that when people ask her “What’s your type?” – which happens often – she asks if they have seen her history. Lovato declared that she doesn’t have a type, and her relationships are based “solely off connection.”
Demi Lovato wishes she could say that she only dates attractive people, but she doesn’t. She also revealed that she did use the VIP/Celebrity dating app Raya, but was blacklisted from the service when she tried to re-download it after ending a relationship. Lovato says that was a blessing in disguise because she needed to be alone at that time.
