Washington reportedly paid for the actor’s studies at Oxford University. In a statement, Denzel described him as a “gentle soul” who had immense talent. Denzel went on to write in his statement that Chadwick would live on in the films he created over his short but “illustrious career.”

As it was previously reported, Chadwick Boseman passed away last night. In an Instagram post, his family dropped the sad news, claiming that Boseman had been fighting against colon cancer since his diagnosis in 2016.

They described him as a “true fighter” who persisted through his battle with the illness. According to his family’s statement, Chadwick worked on films like Da 5 Bloods, Marshall, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and more, all while undergoing surgeries and chemotherapy treatments.

Hot New Hip Hop says Washington worked as the producer of Chadwick Boseman’s last movie, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Netflix had intended to release a virtual preview of the movie on Monday but they postponed it on account of his death.

Chadwick Boseman had a short time in the film industry, but he’s most known for starring in the groundbreaking film, Black Panther. He portrayed the titular character, which catapulted his career.

Since his death was revealed, many of the actor’s contemporaries in the industry commemorated him, including Phaedra Parks, Kandi Burruss, P. Diddy, and more.

Earlier this year, it was reported that fans were concerned for Boseman’s health after he was spotted looking skinny and gaunt while on a walk with one of his family members.

Fans in the comment section asked what was wrong with him, but at the time, it wasn’t revealed what he was struggling with. Social media users compared his skinny frame to the way he looked in the Black Panther film, with one person writing, “de strength of de pantha has been stripped away.”
