There were two opposing opinions on the last installment of Game of Thrones: you either loved it or hated it. However, it doesn’t matter what viewers think because the show was just awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.
Game of Thrones is already the most awarded show in Emmy history, the latest one just adds a cherry on top for the cast and writers.
During their acceptance speech, David Benioff and D.B Weiss took turns when they said: ‘This all started in the demented mind of George R.R. Martin. ou make everything we write better. We love you, and we loved every minute we’ve spent with all of you.’
They then thanked the ‘hardest working crews in television’ and joked that it was amazing that all of them were still alive.

From the decision to have Arya Stark kill the night king to having Jon Snow stick a dagger in Daenarys Targaryen’s heart after she goes mad seemingly out of nowhere, the reception for the production was hot and cold — mainly cold.
Many felt that it was just lazy writing that ruined one of the most popular HBO series is history. Down to the coffee cup spotted in plain sight, it warranted a petition from die-hard fans that amassed over a million signatures to reshoot the final season.
The president of HBO responded to the backlash earlier this year.
‘I think to a certain extent it was expected that for a show this big, there’s no way you’re going to please everybody. It’s roughly split with some people loving it and some people disliking it. … You’re never going to make everybody happy, nor should that be the goal.’
Meanwhile, Peter Dinklage also took home yet another Emmy for his role on the show.
Congratulations to all those involved with the show.
