Did Dakota Johnson And Chris Martin Secretly Split Over Baby Plans?

The rumors are swirling that Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have split after 20 months of dating and talks of marriage, and a new report claims that the couple broke up because they couldn’t agree on baby plans. Did the relationship end because Johnson didn’t want to get pregnant?

According to The Sun, Martin recently surprised his friends by telling them that he is single again after he and Johnson split last month.

“There was talk of engagement, but now he says they have gone their separate ways, which has come as a real surprise to everyone,” says an insider.

It has been months since cameras spotted Martin and Johnson in public together. The last time was in November 2018 when the couple dined at the Sushi Park restaurant in Los Angeles. At the time, insiders were claiming that the relationship was serious and the couple would probably get married.

One source claimed that Johnson and Martin were talking about getting married next year, but they wanted to see how things go with them traveling together during Martin’s tour.

Now, sources say that the Coldplay frontman and the Fifty Shades of Grey star were arguing for months about starting a family. Apparently, the 42-year-old Martin – who already has two kids with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow – wanted to have a baby with Johnson, but she wasn’t on board with the idea of becoming a mom right away.

“Chris made it clear that he wants more kids as soon as possible, but Dakota’s career has really taken off and that’s the last thing she wanted to think about right away,” revealed a close friend of the former couple.

Even though they share a $5.3 million beach house in Malibu, the 29-year-old Johnson is “nowhere near ready” to bring a baby home, and the source says the couple eventually realized that they were “pulling in completely opposite directions.”

The snitch added that both Martin and Johnson are “broken-hearted” that their relationship didn’t work out.

Chris Martin and Paltrow consciously uncoupled back in 2014, and their 13-year marriage came to an end with their divorce in 2016. Paltrow had nothing but kind things to say about her ex’s girlfriend during an interview, calling her a “fantastic woman” who she adores. Paltrow is now married to Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk.

As for Dakota Johnson, she and How I Met Your Mother alum Jason Segel have a new movie coming out in 2020 titled The Friend.
