Do Game Of Thrones Stars Kit Harington And Jason Momoa Have A Fake Friendship?

Even though Jason Momoa starred in just the first season of Game of Thrones, he and Kit Harrington have seemingly remained close friends over the years. Now a new report claims the friendship that fans see when the two actors appear in public together is all just an act.

A tabloid claims that Momoa and Harrington did become good friends back in 2011 when Game of Thrones premiered on HBO. The two actors appeared to have bonded on set during Momoa’s short stint on the fantasy series. And, when Momoa’s character Khal Drogo died in the first season, the two parted ways professionally, but continued to hang out socially.

The problem is, it’s the partying that allegedly caused the friendship to crumble. Momoa couldn’t keep up with Harrington, and they stopped hanging out.

Since then, both Momoa and Harrington have gotten married. In 2017, Momoa married his longtime love, Cosby Show star Lisa Bonet. And, last year Harrington married his former GOT co-star and on-screen love, Rose Leslie.

Recently, both actors attended the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere with their wives. And, while the two put on a good show in front of the cameras, their friendship is virtually non-existent.

Since wrapping on the final season of Game of Thrones, Harington has started to make some significant changes to his appearance, including shaving off the Jon Snow signature beard. The change in facial hair did not sit well with some fans – leaving many in tears – and Harington even admitted that he looks like a “tired child” without his beard.

Now, Momoa has followed suit and shaved off his beard, and fans aren’t sure what to think about it. The reaction appears to be much better than the one Kit Harington received. According to News Nation, recently the Aquaman star posted a video on YouTube that featured himself shaving his famous beard with an electric razor.

“Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA! I’m shaving this beast off, it’s time to make a change,” he wrote in the video’s caption. “A change for the better…for my kids, for your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let’s clean up our oceans and our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make a switch to INFINITELY RECYCLABLE aluminum. Water in cans, NOT plastic.”

Jason Momoa says that he shaved his beard to bring awareness to the environmental problem of plastic waste. In the video, he urges his fans to ditch single-use plastic water bottles, and instead choose recyclable aluminum.

Game of Thrones airs Sunday nights on HBO.
