Donald Glover Says He's Not Done With Childish Gambino Just Yet

Over the years, Donald Glover has suggested a number of times that he would be done with the title, Childish Gambino, which is his musical artist name. Glover just dropped 3.15.20, and amid reports he was going to no longer use his stage name, some people believe he’s really serious this time.

Hot New Hip Hop reported today that Glover has recently said something different about the future of his stage name. During a conversation with the I May Destroy You creator, Michaela Coel, Glover touched on the idea of becoming Childish Gambino once again.

Glover’s latest record was praised by many, including Coel, and Donald admitted he was unsure if he would be finished with “that music project.” His last record featured the likes of Ariana Grande and 21 Savage, among others.

According to Glover, spirituality has become a central theme in almost every project he has released. The actor/musician claimed he had spoken with a shaman about the potential of releasing a “bible.” He said self-love and love for others is a principle that lies beneath all of his work.

It’s unclear if he’ll be releasing a new project with the Childish Gambino name, but at least he’s not totally distancing himself from the idea as he once did. While Donald Glover is a respected artist in a number of different fields, he still has a hard time getting credit from his kids.

Earlier this year, Glover admitted that he can’t beat Beyonce, because his family wanted to watch the Lion King movie but not because he was in it – because Beyonce was in it. Glover explained how Lion King was his son’s favorite movie because he loves animals.

He wasn’t going to tell him he was actually in the movie. However, when he suggested going to see The Lion King, his son said to him, “yeah, Beyonce‘s in it right?”

Glover said in response, “Yeah, daddy’s in it too though.” While laughing to himself, Glover explained how Beyonce has managed to reach so many different demographics.
