A recently-released video that has gone viral since it got published appears to show CNN anchor Chris Cuomo swearing at an unknown man. The reason? The man had called him “Fredo,” which ended up aggravating him.
Fredo Corleone is the weak brother in the movie The Godfather. The TV personality responded by: “My name is Chris Cuomo. I’m an anchor on CNN”.
It was not initially known if the man had intentionally called him by the wrong name, aware of the reaction it would provoke, or if it was an honest mistake.
However, after he gave a sarcastic response to Cuomo, it became clear that he was trying to stir up conflict. Cuomo responded to that with “If you want to play, we’ll f***ing play.”
Afterward, the man stated that he was not looking for any trouble. Despite that, Cuomo continued to lash at him.
The man went to insist that he honestly believed that “Fredo” was the real name of Chris Cuomo, and did not want to aggravate him.
The man, who has decided to keep his identity private, has been described as a Donald Trump supporter.

This is why Trump jumped in to bash Cuomo by tweeting: “Would Chris Cuomo be given a Red Flag for his recent rant? Filthy language and a total loss of control. He shouldn’t be allowed to have any weapon. He’s nuts!”
Trump added: “I think what Chris Cuomo did was horrible. His language was horrible; he looked like a total out-of-control animal. He lost it, and frankly, I don’t think anybody should defend him because he spews lies every night. I don’t know why anybody would defend him,” Trump said. “Chris Cuomo is out of control. I watched it, and I thought it was terrible… you’ve never seen me do that. He was so out of control that He was so out of control that it’s a good thing he wasn’t holding a weapon.”
In any case, it looks like the situation around the incident has started to calm down Cuomo has moved on after apologizing for some of his words and behavior.
Some media personalities like Sean Hannity from Fox News defended Cuomo for standing up for himself and his family. Most commenters see the viral video was a set-up.
