Dwayne Johnson Reveals He Didn't Want To Get Married Again Because The First One Nearly Killed Him

Reported first by the Wall Street Magazine, the outlet claims Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson didn’t want to re-marry following his traumatic 2007 split form Dany Garcia, his ex-wife. Speaking with WSJ, the star admitted his first separation “did a number” on him.

The Rock admitted he wasn’t actually scared of getting married, it was mostly just a feeling of hesitancy. However, his girlfriend of the time, who he later went on to marry, Lauren Hashian, was “incredibly patient” with him and stated there was no pressure to tie the knot.

In August of this year, the 47-year-old wrestler-turned-actor married his longtime girlfriend, Hashian, in Hawaii. Reportedly, Dwayne and Lauren first got together on the set of the 2006 film, The Game Plan, and are now the parents to two children: a 1-year-old named Tiana and a 3-year-old named Jasmine.

Following thirty seconds of meeting each other, Johnson explained, he noticed she was truly “stunning,” and realized it immediately. At that time, Lauren was also going through a break up of her own. Johnson, who has an 18-year-old daughter named Simone with Garcia, claimed fate was the reason they came together.

Johnson revealed that Lauren was going through a rough breakup as well, and neither party was really looking for anything, so the universe kind of just brought them together. In 2007, Hashian and Johnson made their relationship official, and his divorce from Garcia was finished in the following year.

Dwayne isn’t the only actor-turned-wrestler to go through a brutal breakup in recent years. Last year, John Cena, who was engaged to fiancée, Nikki Bella, saw the collapse of his romance with the wrestler not long before they were gearing up for marriage. It was right around the same time as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in May.

Rumor has it that John’s insistence on not having any children caused a rift between them, and Nikki realized at the last minute she couldn’t get married knowing she would be without children. Following their split, John and Nikki tried to make amends, however, they never came together again.
