Editor Online Deletes Women From Latest Avengers Movie In An Attempt To Show Their Redundancy

According to a report from MovieWeb and NPR, an editor online recently changed the Avengers: Endgame film so as to eliminate all of the female actresses. The online troll allegedly was trying to make a point by removing the women in the film: to demonstrate their redundancy.

Reportedly, the editor removed the scenes which he described as being “gay.” As followers of Disney flicks know, this won’t be the first time their films have been targeted by angry fans, who take issue with the political stance the studio has taken by introducing characters not typical of the comic book universe.

When Disney released The Last Jedi in 2017, fans were not happy that Daisy Ridley’s Rey was in the movie, as well as Kelly Marie Tran’s Rose Tico, in addition to Carrie Fisher’s Leia Organa.

Fans of Star Wars took issue with the way, in their view, the studios introduced redundant characters as a way of making a political statement, rather than illustrating or emphasizing interesting plot-points.

Endgame was targeted by the anonymous editor who described it as being the “defeminized version” of the movie. Movie Web reported that Carol Danvers doesn’t save Tony Stark in the first ten minutes, and Pepper Potts doesn’t act as Rescue, and Natasha Romanoff doesn’t sacrifice her life for the Soul Stone.

Fans weren’t the only unhappy people with the way the Star Wars movies were changed. Even Luke Hamill suggested the way they wrote off Luke Skywalker was not in-tune with his character from the previous films, stating that Luke wasn’t the type of guy to give up suddenly.

Regardless of whether some people were unhappy with the way the Avengers series changed directions, the film still nearly became the highest-grossing movie of all time, falling a bit short of James Cameron’s film, Avatar, which currently holds the number one position.

Reportedly, Disney and Marvel are gearing up to release an expanded version of Endgame so as to increase the box office earnings. It’s an attempt to square up with Cameron’s Avatar. With a production cost of $346,000,000, Avengers: Endgame grossed a total of $2.75 billion thus far.
