Ellen DeGeneres' Home Was Burglarized And Police Say It Was An 'Inside Job'

Ellen DeGeneres is having really bad luck lately. The Sun reported this week that there was a burglary at the star’s $27 million home in Montecito, California, with police sources claiming it was clearly an “inside job.”

Police officials claimed it was the only home burglarized around that time on account of its connection to Ellen DeGeneres. Burglars intruded into the home over the 4th of July weekend. The Sun picked up on a Montecito Association newsletter which cited police sources saying that the crime was an “inside job.”

A representative for the neighborhood association, including people like Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Ariana Grande, and Oprah Winfrey, told the other residents in the community not to worry about additional robberies.

Furthermore, the police say jewelry and watches were taken from the house. As it was noted above, this is just another problem for Ellen DeGeneres who has been viciously put on blast over the last weeks.

Former employees complained of a wide range of problematic behavior on set, including “racist microaggressions,” sexual misconduct, and more.

Ex-staff members claim some of the show’s executive producers were abusers, including one who would touch people inappropriately. Later, TV producers and other executives talked about their experiences with Ellen, with one, in particular, claiming that Ellen had the most “bizarre” requests.

For instance, a producer claims he was told not to let anyone look at Ellen when she went to visit the Australian talk show, Today, for an interview. The TV producer says he remembers asking, “I can’t look at her?”

Many celebrities came to bat for Ellen, including Katy Perry, Kevin Hart, and more, although not everyone did. For instance, Brad Garrett, the Everybody Loves Raymond alum, says it was “common knowledge” in the industry that Ellen was very mean to people.

Around the same time as the initial reports, a Louisiana man came out to accuse Ellen of viciously bullying him when he was a young boy and she was an adult. Ellen used to work for the boy’s mother before she became famous.
