Ex-Wife Of Harvey Weinstein Georgina Chapman Receives Praise For Appearing At Met Gala Following Misconduct Scandal

According to a report from Page Six, Harvey Weinstein’s estranged wife, Georgina Chapman, has been taking some time off dating following her catastrophic separation from the disgraced producer, who was outed as an alleged sexual predator. Harvey is currently awaiting trial.

When she stepped out on to the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday evening, people noticed that the 43-year-old didn’t look quite as confident as she normally did.

Georgina has been absent from the scene for approximately two years, following her husband’s scandal that first began in late 2017. Harvey was accused of using his position in Hollywood to coerce women into sexual relationships, often explaining to them that this “was how it worked,” had they refused.

Georgina was there with Constance Wu, who starred in the breakout hit of last summer, Crazy Rich Asians. Chapman actually had dressed Ms. Wu, who came to prominence from her role in the aforementioned movie that broke box office records last year as a romantic comedy.

Speaking with The Post, her friends said it has been a battle for Chapman, who separated from Weinstein following the allegations against him from dozens of women, some of the most vocal being Asia Argento, Rose McGowan, as well as Ashley Judd.

A source who spoke with the outlet explained that Georgina isn’t looking to get back into dating at all at the moment. The Weinstein scandal was simply too painful for her, and she’s mostly focused on getting her self-esteem back to where it was.

The family insider said to the outlet that Chapman only speaks with Harvey when she has to, mostly in relation to their kids together. Harvey is gearing up to go on trial on the 9th of September. Weinstein pled not guilty and is free following a bail payment of $1,000,000.

The embattled producer is facing off against five counts of rape as well as sexual assault involving two different women. Previously, Georgina had to cancel her engagements with another Met Gala due to the allegations against the producer.
