Following Afton Williamson's Misconduct Investigations Authorities Determine There Was No Misbehavior On Set Of The Rookie

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Entertainment One, the production studio responsible for The Rookie on the network, ABC, has finished conducting their investigation. Afton Williamson filed a complaint against the production regarding alleged behavior from other workers.

As it was previously reported, Williamson said she wouldn’t be coming back to the production back in July. Near the beginning of August, Williamson said she was the recipient of “racially charged inappropriate comments” from the people in the hair department.

Moreover, Williamson claimed one of the actors on the set, Demetrius Grosse, had sexually harassed her. Regardless, the investigators presiding over the case claim there was no misbehavior on the part of anybody on set.

Afton previously said she had told the showrunner of the series, Alexi Hawley, about the incident, however, she never actually spoke to anyone at human resources. The star previously stated she had been sexually assaulted at the season one finale’s after-party.

On her Instagram, Williamson said she was sexually harassed by Demetrius Groose, and also claims she was bullied and assaulted by the Hair Department Head, Sally Nicole Ciganovich.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Entertainment One claims they hired a law-firm who then hired a third-party organization, EXTTI, to do the investigating. After conducting approximately 400 hours of interviews and looking thoroughly at the evidence, EXTTI alleged that nothing unlawful or inappropriate took place.

ABC, the network, released a statement as well in which they stated they were pleased with the conclusion of the investigation. “We are confident that eOne takes these matters seriously,” ABC’s statement began, adding that they will continue to deal with complaints and other grievances.

Afton Williamson’s case against eOne and ABC is just one of many allegations to come out since the beginning of the #MeToo movement in late 2017. Another star to face an investigation was Kip Pardue, although, he was found guilty by the investigating authorities and was fined.
