Following the reports that Christopher Dionne, the former HGTV host, had assaulted a 10-year-old girl, Page Six reported that Dionne would be going to prison for three years. Christopher was accused of molesting a 10-year-old friend of his daughter during a sleepover in his Connecticut home in 2017.
The 37-year-old was the host of the Family Flip pilot episode for HGTV. During the trial, he maintained his innocence and is expected to appeal the decision. He was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault in addition to the risk of injury to a minor.
A judge on Wednesday ruled that Dionne would have to serve around 10 years of probation as well as register as a sex offender, claims a report from the Hartford Courant. Dionne’s victim, who’s 12-years-old now, claims she was good friends with his daughter at the time of the assault back in November of 2017.
According to the young girl, Dionne molested her twice while his 10-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son slept in the same room. The host supposedly was wearing his boxers and asked her if she wanted to touch this penis.

She also claims he groped her chest and backside. Following the incident, Dionne reportedly told her she couldn’t tell anybody about it because his daughter would grow up without a dad. The girl didn’t go to the sentencing hearing but her mother delivered an impassioned statement to the court claims The Day In Connecticut.
According to the mother of the girl, she received a lot of hateful messages from people online regarding the story, and she told her mother it would’ve been better to not tell anybody because it “ruined everybody’s life.”
Along with the witnesses’ testimony, the state also demonstrated evidence showing DNA from Dionne on the child’s pajama bottoms. The review was done by specialists at the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Dionne, on the other hand, claims he didn’t do anything wrong. The small-screen star told the police that when he arrived home, she wrapped her arms around him. At the time, the HGTV host was filming House Rescue in California.
Consequently, A&E suspended filming of House Rescue in California when the authorities first began their investigation.
