People are once again not minding their own business when it comes to mothers and how they choose to raise their kids and live their lives. That being said, despite being shamed for it, Gabrielle Union was very open to explaining why she decided to return to work nine months after she welcomed daughter Kaavia.

The actress made it very clear that she has zero guilt over her choice to come back to work, some would say, so soon after becoming a mom.

Despite what others may think, Union is happy with both her career and parenting paths.

The new America’s Got Talent judge was in attendance at the live show’s red carpet event last night and that is when she chatted with US Weekly, explaining to the news outlet why she is back working nine months after giving birth.

‘I don’t have mom guilt, and I’ll tell you why. Being able to have the job I love and the baby I dreamed of [is great]. I am a better mom because I am able to go away and do what I love. Even if I failed miserably, I am following my dreams. … I’d be less of a mother if I did not set out every day to try to make my dreams and other people’s dreams come true. So I do not have guilt,’ she told the site.

She went on to argue that her work ethic is actually supported by many other parents.

‘We all grew up like, ‘Go, Mom, go. Go, Mom, go!’ Not like, ‘Why are you missing things?’ but, ‘Way to go, I’m glad you’re living your dream.’  We are all kind of rooting for each other.’
