Garcelle Beauvais Talks About Joining RHOBH: 'Some Drama Might Be Upon Us'

With the exit of the iconic Lisa Vanderpump, Bravo knew that they had to make up for her absence in order to keep their loyal Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers entertained. Producers brought on Sutton Stracke and Garcelle Beauvais.
Garcelle is making history as the first African-American woman to join the franchise and she recently opened up about how she found out she made the cut and what her experience has been like so far.
In a new video, Beauvais reveals: ‘I had just landed on a trip from shooting a scripted show. I got a call, and they were like, ‘you’re a housewife!’ I was like, ‘shut up!’ I was screaming at the airport.’
She went on to point out the differences between Garcelle the actress and Garcelle the person.
‘Scripted world, you show up, you know your lines, you’re a character, you can sort of hide who you are, be this other person. Housewives? I’m showing up as me.’
As far as how joining the group of ladies has been, it’s too early to tell.

‘I’ve shot with me, my kids, my ex. Right now everybody’s cool, everybody’s chill, everybody’s welcoming but I know things might change, some drama might be upon us and I’m ready for them.’
The Jamie Foxx Show star has already been spotted out and about with her co-stars.
For the most part, the mom has kept a classy reputation during all her years in the industry. However, there is no doubt whether she is capable or not of bringing the drama.
In 2010, she divorced her husband after finding out that he had been having an affair for five years.
Only, she didn’t keep it a secret, the actress sent an email to his co-workers that was titled ‘Tiger Woods/Jesse James/Mike Nilon’ and read: ‘What do they have in common … I found out today that MY husband of almost 9 yrs has been having an affair for 5 yrs with some slut in Chicago. I am devastated!!!! And I have been duped!! Our boys don’t deserve this!’
