George Clooney appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and discussed a number of topics including his recent birthday (May 6), spending Easter in Ireland with Amal, his children, and U2 lead singer Bono, and his upcoming miniseries on Hulu Catch-22. George Clooney turned 58-years-old and shares boy and girl twins (Alexander and Ella) with wife Amal.

George began by taking a serious note and said that his wife had been working diligently to secure the freedom of Reuters journalists who were arrested in Myanmar. After 511 days behind bars, Amal Clooney and team successfully helped set the journalists free and their freedom came on George’s birthday!

George didn’t give any details on what he received in the form of birthday presents from Amal, family, or friends and indicated that he pretty much has everything he needs.

He certainly has a loving and beautiful family, that’s for sure.

Speaking of family and ancestry, George explained that with a rich, Irish background he had never been to Ireland and took Amal and the kids to Ireland for Easter.

George told Jimmy, “I’ve never been to Ireland – my name is Clooney, you’d think I should have gone there!” George explained they met Irish relatives for the first time but struggled to understand them through their heavy accents.

He then casually announced that they visited Bono on Easter.

George Clooney stated the following.

“We went to Bono’s house for Easter, as you do. We try to only do Easter with rockstars.”

Winning two Oscars (Argo and Syriana) fans know that George Clooney is a master of his craft and love to see him whether it is on television or on the silver screen. George Clooney’s new series Catch-22 comes to Hulu on May 17, 2019.

Based on the novel by Joseph Heller, George Clooney plays the role of Scheisskopf. Hulu describes Catch-22 as follows.

“Based on Joseph Heller’s seminal novel of the same name, Catch-22 is the story of the incomparable, artful dodger, Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a US Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own army which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his military assignments, he’ll be in violation of Catch-22, a hilariously sinister bureaucratic rule which specifies that a concern for one’s own safety in the face of dangers which are real and immediate is the process of a rational mind; a man is considered insane if he willingly continues to fly dangerous combat missions, but a request to be removed from duty is evidence of sanity and therefore makes him ineligible to be relieved from duty.”
